Prayer and Prayer Request

I need prayer. Today I'm feeling a little depressed. I've had problems with depression many years ago, and ocassionally it rears it ugly head again. I'm physically down, nothing serious, just a headache from eyedrops. I'm having my first cataract surgery Monday and I have to do two kinds of eyedrops three times a day for three days before surgery. My eyes do not like anything in them, the second a drop goes in I immediately get a headache, my whole head - eyes, teeth, nose, etc! My prayer request is for safety and protection of my eyes, and for skill for the doctor! Everyone I've talked to who has had this surgery says it is a snap! I hope I can say this! I know, I'm a big whimp!! LOL! (In three weeks I get to do all this all over again, when I have my right eye done!)

I received this prayer this week by email, and in lieu of my whining above I'm posting it as a reminder to all of us, especially me!!

Katherine

Lord,
WE THANK YOU FOR THE BLESSINGS IN OUR LIVES.
From the fullness of His grace we have all received one
blessing after another. John 1:16
WE HUMBLY GIVE THIS DAY TO YOU.
This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be
glad in it. Psalm 118:24
WE COMMIT OUR FAMILY TO YOUR KINGDOM.
As for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.
Joshua 24:15
SURROUND OUR HOME AND EACH OF US WITH
YOUR PROTECTION.
God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in
trouble. Psalm 46:1
GIVE US PEACE EVEN WHEN WE HAVE MUCH TO DO
AND MANY PLACES TO GO.
Peace I leave with you; My peace I give you. John 14:27
FILL OUR HEARTS WITH LOVE FOR YOU, EACH
OTHER, AND THOSE AROUND US.
Love one another, for love comes from God. 1 John 4:7
HELP US TO FULFILL YOUR PLANS AND MAKE A
DIFFERENCE IN THE WORLD.
“For I know the plans I have for you…plans to give you
hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11
OUR FAMILY IS YOURS, TODAY AND ALWAYS.
AMEN.

Ah, dear friend, I am praying for you. Much! I pray for safety for you and guidance for the doctor. Two of my friends recently had cataract surgery and it went very well. They are so pleased with the results. You will be held close in the arms of the Father! With prayers and hugs - ~Adrienne~

I understand your anxiety. However, I had this surgery in one eye and now I can see better than I ever have even without glasses. I feel truly blessed to have been able to have the surgery. We live in a wonderful time. You posted a beautiful prayer and it is very comforting. Charlotte and I will be praying for you.

what a blessing medical science is! 100 years ago you wouldn't have been able to have the eye surgery that will not only save, but improve your eyesight. I pray that God guides your physician's hand.

When I feel overwhelmed or depressed, I say the Serenity Prayer. My Dad was an alcoholic, so I learned the Serenity Prayer as a very young girl. It has stayed with me my entire life.

God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference. Amen.

Hi Charlotte,

I will be praying for you that your eye surgery will be a success and that your depression will be lifted from you soon.

The worse part about that eye surgery is having to put all those drops in your eyes. You won't feel a thing when the procedure is being performed. I have had both eyes done.

I will just say Amen to Clif's comments. It is natural to feel anxiety when you're having this procedure. I know the Lord will give you the peace and assurance you need to see you through it.
Blessings,
Charlotte

Thanks for dropping by and leaving a comment. I must have overstated how small my plot of grass is. It's large enough I need a regular lawn mower and edger. However, I wouldn't even work up a sweat if it wasn't so hot in Arizona. It's been in the low eighties the last few days. It's a nice time to work outside right now. But by June--look out!
