Move the Mountain!

Last night I couldn't get to sleep so I turned on the TV to a Christian channel. The message was from Mark 11:23 - "Truly I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, be taken up and cast into the sea, and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says is going to happen, it shall be granted him." The mountain analogy is - "an impossible situation that can't be moved." Some may feel McCain winning the election is an impossible situation. Let's claim this verse as we pray for our miracle! Notice the key words in this verse.

Below I have included more than that one scripture, so not to take it out of context. "Jesus answered saying 'Have faith in God. Truly I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, be taken up and cast into the sea, and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says is going to happen, it shall be granted him. Therefore I say to you, all things for which you pray and ask, believe that you have received them, and they shall be granted you. And whenever you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against anyone, so that your Father also who is in heaven may forgive you your transgressions. But if you do not forgive, neither will your Father who is in heaven forgive your transgressions." Mark 11:22-26

Key words here are:
"pray,"
"ask,"
"believe,"
(what he) "says,"
(does not)"doubt," and
"forgive."

I suggest we all meditate on these key words and ask the Lord what He has to say to us through them.

ADDED NOTE: Please click on the Urgent Prayer Request on the side bar, and pray for this supporter's husband who is having emergency open heart surgery today! Now, this is one of those mountain situations! May God bless and protect him.

Having a lot of teaching in the faith movement we are VERY familiar with these scriptures. Unfortunately, too much emphasis is put on Mark 11:23 and not getting down to the "forgiving" part. There seems to be a lot of unforgiveness in The Body of Christ and that is the reason for a lot of unanswered prayer. We must always take the scriptures in their full context. Thank you for doing just that here, Katherine.

I love that passage of Scripture! It doesn't leave room for fear, does it? Thank you for sharing it today. ~Adrienne~

Fits in so many areas of my life right now! Miss Kat I cant help but feel like GOD is thru with us in this country sometimes. We are a horrible bunch of disobediant folks. We keep spinning downward. I cant help but think maybe HE is giving us what we deserve.(OT folks wanted a King and HE gave them one). I feel like HE has to put us in a place where we really cry out to HIM...WE...Most of our country doesnt even know HIM. Do you know I feel bad about praying for McCain and Palin....I hate to put them in such a bad place! I know that sounds crazy but it is my heart. I think both of them are good folks but I feel like they would be throwed to the wolves! Yes we need your new blog!! I need your new blog!
